In Memory of Kiya

This kit was made in memory of my husband’s late daughter, Kiya Renee. Today is the 5 year anniversary since she passed away. Each time my husband sees a butterfly, he thinks of Kiya; we say she is flying with the butterflies. She lived for 5 ½ years with cerebral palsy, battling surgeries and many illnesses. Through it all, she always had the most amazing smile & laugh. There’s something beautiful about those moments in your child’s life that may seem insignificant to others – my husband can remember all those moments with Kiya. The next time you see a butterfly, remember all those parents who have lost a child and remember to hug your child every night.

For ONE DAY ONLY, the wonderfully sweet designers (Amy & Dana) behind AmyDane Designs, are offering Something Beautiful FREE. Instead of spending $3.99 on the kit, if you could, please donate that to United Cerebral Palsy at http://www.ucp.org/ucp_general.cfm/1/5.

Now...go give your kids a big hug.

  2. I read your inspiration explanation in the kit when I bought it a few weeks ago and was truly touched by it. Thank you for not only sharing your family's story, but for the precious reminder that our children (and all of our other loved ones for that matter) are a daily gift. <3
